That the location given by the script itself is American territory gives us the possibility of delving into the history of a country that unfortunately is plagued by political violence and assassination attempts on its leaders with more or less luck.
However, it is not about transferring the characters of the opera to real biographies but rather locating a temporal moment where the ingredients of the fictional story also exist and allow the drama to develop without changing its essence.
The proposal takes place at the beginning of the 20th century, in a context whose ingredients allow us to resize the story embodied in characters who plot, conspire, love and fear under a mask that prevents us from seeing the truth in the foreground.
We will only see this truth through the eyes of a child, the son of Amelia and Renato who opens each scene of the opera where through his games and demonstrations he gives an account of what he sees and hears about this adult world plagued by misery. and of power that only has one destination, the catastrophe.
